What we did last half term
Last half term our topic was ‘Water’, we read the story ‘Rainbow Fish’ and did work based on the story. We went outside and looked at the clouds and learned that clouds are full of droplets of water. We also did some science work on floating and sinking and waterproof and non-waterproof materials. Children worked with partners to conduct experiments and were able to explain what they were doing.
In English we have learned to read and write some tricky words, which the children are getting good at. Please can you practice the following words at home: go, went, was, the, you.
We looked at the Anglo-Saxons in history and made some shields and had fun dressing up in Anglo-Saxon style clothes.
On the 18th May we enjoyed Empty Classroom Day and did lots of activities like water investigations, den making and minibeast exploring outside. We had our lunch outside too which was lovely and the weather was really sunny and warm.
This half term / Reminders:
This half term our topic is ‘Rainforests’, which should be fun!
P.E is on Tuesday afternoons, please can you make sure your child has a kit in school consisting of white shorts, blue t-shirt and black pumps.
Please remember to send your child’s home/school diary and reading book in each day along with a snack as the school doesn’t provide one in KS2.
We send the children’s weekly homework out on Friday’s for it to come back in on the Monday or Tuesday of the following week. The children get a reward coin for their treasure chest for any completed homework they do.
Thank you for your continued support.
