School Achievements
Sherbrook Primary School is very proud of the individual achievements that all our children make academically and socially. Equally, we are very proud of the achievements which we have been made as a whole school community, some of which are listed below:
Achieved in June 2014 this award is for schools that demonstrate accelerated impact against all four elements of Achievement for All and sustained rates of pupil progress over a two year period, as well as continued commitment beyond the two years to the Achievement for All programme and its approach. The Quality Mark provides a public and professional indicator of the quality of teaching, learning and progress within the school. |
Achieved in October 2017 LOtC (Silver) recognises schools which have an awareness of the benefits of providing frequent, continuous and progressive LOtC to all pupils. In June 2021 we achieved the final, prestigious Gold LOtC Mark. LOtC Mark (Gold) recognises exemplary LOtC provision in schools and indicates that a school is a leader in ensuring that all pupils have access to frequent, continuous and progressive learning outside the classroom to support their learning and achievement. The LOtC Mark recognises existing exemplary provision and assists and supports schools in developing their LOtC offer to enable all children to have access to meaningful LOtC experiences. The LOtC Mark is the only national accreditation for schools which recognises, and supports, the development of learning outside the classroom across all subject areas. |

I CAN’s Early Talk Accreditation enables teachers and staff in early years settings to:
We are accredited at ‘Enhanced Level’ for children’s communication and met the standards set for good practice related to supporting the communication and language skills of all children including those with identified SLCN, working collaboratively with other professionals and parents. The accreditation recognises good practice in providing targeted support for children in the setting and in the identification and referral of children with SLCN. |
To gain the award lots of evidence has been collected to show how, we are promoting and protecting positive emotional wellbeing and mental health within school. We held a range of meetings with staff, governors, dinner supervisors; parents and the children. We asked the whole school community to complete questionnaires showing their level of understanding around mental health and the award, which we repeated towards the end of the assessment to show the knowledge gained, prior to our final assessment and verification during June 2019. This is reviewed and we are proud to have renewed our accreditation for this in May 2023. |
National College is a multi-award winning digital training provider with extensive resources in online safety, developed in line with the Department of Education’s statutory requirements. Its CPD accredited courses and educational resources support UK schools in educating the whole school community in online safety– including all school staff, senior leaders, teachers and parents – on how to make the internet a safer place for children. |
Dyslexia Friendly Status The school is very proud of the fact that we were awarded Dyslexia Friendly full status. The award recognises the levels of intervention that a school provides to assist students in overcoming literacy difficulties. This is reviewed every 3 years and we are proud to have renewed our accreditation for this in July 2023. |
Sherbrook has been awarded a Quality Mark Award for English and Mathematics in recognition of its improving provision, practice and performance. This Quality Mark is awarded for three years. |
In November 2022 we were delighted to be recognised as the winners of the Alex Timpson Award for 2022. This recognises our outstanding Attachment Aware and Trauma Informed practice. Our Sherbrook Showcase for this can be viewed here. |
In January 2024 we received accreditation for the Leading Parent Partnership Award. The report stated that "the mechanisms in place to communicate with parents are effective and supportive. There is a genuine sense of partnership between parents and school leaders." |
