Red 1 Class

Overview of class

Welcome to Red 1 class. We are a mixed year 1 and year 2 class. Tammy is the class teacher. Lauren T is the TA. Kay and Angel are the ISA's.

What we have been learning during Spring 2:

This half term, our topic has been “Toy Story”. We have explored old and new toys; materials that toys are made from and even designed and constructed our very own toy car!

Every Tuesday, we have been exploring the great outdoors in Forest School with Sue and Stacey. We enjoyed making many yummy treats for the wildlife that visit Sherbrook. The birds will be very happy with our bird’s nest parcels.

On Wednesdays, we have ‘move and groove’ with Jo.  We enjoy moving to songs and nursery rhymes.

On Thursdays, we have so much fun in PE with Jess. She leads us in ‘Boogie Bounce’ and we enjoy bouncing whilst following our routines. We enjoy popping bubbles and twirling ribbons to the music.

On Fridays, we have ‘fun with food’, where we have been exploring different foods and textures. We have also tried tasting many new, yummy foods too!

Margaret –Ann visits us on a Friday for story time. We all enjoy listening and watching Margaret Ann as she reads and signs beautiful stories.

What we are learning in Summer 1:

Our topic next term is ‘Minbeasts’.

Please can Home/School diaries come into school daily, the diaries are an important part of the communication between home and school. Please put any relevant information in there. Please ensure that your child’s belongings are clearly labelled.

On Thursdays, we have PE – please ensure your child is dressed in their PE clothes for this day.

Please ensure you send in a spare change of clothes every day for your child.

Thank you to everyone that has sent in alternative footwear; this has enabled us to have lots of fun outside.

Thank you for your continued support.
