Maple

Welcome to Maple class, We are a lower KS2 class in the semi formal pathway. Our team is Emma, Dani, Alex, Michelle and Sophie. We learn through play and lots of experiences, we enjoy working 1:1 but are learning to work in groups through continuous provision activities, sensory exploration, phonics, attention autism and learning outside the classroom.

This half term, in Topic, we are learning about our local area and people who help us in it. Our English curriculum in collaboration is taking us on a journey and exploring their scenes. Our Science, also supports our Topic curriculum, so we are enhancing and exploring our school space through weeding, planting of seeds and identifying trees/plants and their parts.

In Math’s we are learning ‘Place Value and number’ for this half term, we are developing our number skills by ordering, comparing, partitioning and matching amounts linked to the White Rose Maths scheme Reception – Year 3 work.

Reminders:

Reading books and water bottles need to come in daily; your child will be read with 1:1 at least once a week, but we encourage you to read with them at your pleasure.
Library books your child has selected will be sent home with them on Monday; please can these be returned the following Monday for them to swap for another.
PE kits and Sapling School kits need to be sent in at the beginning of each half term.
Please label all clothing and belongings.
